How much can contemporary artists and audiences learn from the past? This panel will explore the relationship between research into historical concert programs and the creation of adventurous and compelling chamber music concerts for contemporary audiences. The panel will draw on the Miró Quartet’s “Quartet Archive” program; Juilliard’s “Meditations on Integration: Charles Mingus and Dave Brubeck”; and other compelling explorations of historical narrative.
