Lecolion Washington has performed extensively as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. Tenured at age 33, Washington served as a bassoon professor for fifteen years, and from 2009-2017 was executive director of PRIZM Ensemble in Memphis, TN. Washington additionally served as director of In-School Programs for the Memphis Music Initiative, where he led the creation and implementation of a teaching artist program that reached approximately 4,000 Memphis youth weekly. In September 2017, he became executive director of the Community Music Center of Boston. Washington holds an M.M. in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a B.M. in Music Studies from UT Austin.
