Samora Pinderhughes

Composer, pianist, and vocalist, Samora Pinderhughes is known for creating multidisciplinary projects that investigate contemporary and historical sociopolitical issues. His project, The Transformations Suite, examines the radical history of resistance within the communities of the African Diaspora. He scored the award-winning documentary, Whose Streets?, and his work has been featured on HBO, Netflix, and PBS. He is a member of Blackout for Human Rights, the arts and social justice collective founded by filmmakers Ryan Coogler and Ava DuVernay, and is pursuing a PhD in Creative Practice and Critical Inquiry under mentor Vijay Iyer at Harvard University.
