Biography
The Dalí Quartet brings Latin American repertoire to an equal standing alongside the classics. Tours of “Classical Roots, Latin Soul” programming have reached enthusiastic audiences across the Americas, including multiple return engagements. The quartet collaborates with Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Olga Kern, with whom they have recorded Brahms and Shostakovich for the Delos label. Upcoming engagements include programming with Ricardo Morales, famed principal clarinetist of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and with the Bandini-Chiacchiaretta duo. 2021 recipient of the Guarneri String Quartet Residency, the inaugural Piazzolla Music Competition Silver Medal and the 2019 Atlanta Symphony Aspire Award for accomplished African American and Latinx Musicians, the quartet is in residence at West Chester University (PA) and the Iris Orchestra. Philadelphia–based, its members are from Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the mainland US. They studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Indiana University, New England Conservatory, Juilliard, and the Simon Bolivar Conservatory.
