Bronx Arts Ensemble

Kika Wright is a bassoonist, arts leader, and teaching artist, living in New York City. She currently serves as the music programs manager for Bronx Arts Ensemble (BAE), which brings music and related arts to Bronx neighborhoods. Prior to her relocation to New York City, Ms. Wright served as the double reed instructor at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. In addition to her work in programming, Ms. Wright also teaches woodwinds in Bronx public schools as a teaching artist for BAE. Ms. Wright’s advocacy work centers in assisting minority-led arts organizations in fundraising, and currently serves as the finance chair for the International Society for Black Musicians. Ms. Wright is also an active freelance musician in the northeastern U.S., and is the bassoonist of the Incidental Chamber Players of Pittsburgh— a chamber group that focuses on rarely heard and unjustly forgotten works of the wind chamber music repertoire.
