Flanders Arts Institute is a fusion of former support organisations for visual arts, performing arts, and music (the former Flanders Music Centre). The organisation has been established by the Flemish government to support the Flemish professional cultural sector. It promotes music from Flanders by editing publications, presence at fairs or organising showcases. Expertise is encouraged by offering advice, news and guidance for professionals about management, the music industry, government policy, social and legal matters, artistic programmes, music education… Flanders Arts Institute supports research and acts as a platform for (international) exchange of ideas and knowledge. The documentation centre holds books, recordings and all other useful documentation about Flemish musical and cultural life.
